Smith System Ties Technology to Training Effectiveness
August 8, 2011
Arlington, Texas – August 8, 2011 – Smith System, the global leader in professional driver training, has introduced Smith360®, Full Circle Driver Management, the first and only telematics solution fully integrated with on-road driver training. Smith360® is a strategic and cooperative effort between Geotab, Inc. and Smith System, Inc.
The Smith360® GO5 module is a simple plug and play device that uses GPS, wireless communication and accelerometer technology to supply driver performance and vehicle dynamics information. A web-based dashboard allows fleet managers to clearly see trends in driver training effectiveness plus gain other valuable information for fuel efficiency, route planning, tax reporting and vehicle maintenance.
“We have evaluated a variety of approaches to supporting our training initiatives through technology and found Geotab to be best in its combination of cost, installation simplicity, data integrity and reporting quality,” said Tony Douglas, CEO of Smith System. “Smith360® allows us to offer fleets a predictive, real-time monitoring solution tied directly to our proven training tactics that change driver behavior.”
“It is exciting to combine our six decades of driver training experience with the latest telematics technology to give fleet managers the full circle of Monitoring – Analysis – Reporting – Intervention – Training,” said Jim Smith, Senior Vice President of Smith System Training. “I have been with Smith for 30 years and have never seen a driver management tool this powerful.”
“Smith360® is a great example of what Geotab calls ‘management by measurement’, said Neil Cawse, Geotab’s CEO. “Smith’s combination of our technology with their training programs is a very innovative solution for fleet managers.”
Smith360® will be available starting August 8, 2011. Special pricing opportunities are available for operational tests and early adopters for a limited time. Contact Linda Laws to schedule a no-obligation demonstration at (817) 385-2125 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
